About the Appalachian State University Athletic Training Program

The Athletic Training education program at Appalachian State University has been in existence for more than 30 years, was one of the first Approved programs by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), has been accredited by CAAHEP from 1993-2006, and are currently accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). We provide a challenging program that encourages the highest quality classroom and clinical experiences for our students. Our program prides itself on providing the students with opportunities to grow not only professionally but personally as well. Our graduates are employed throughout the United States in colleges & universities, clinics, corporations, physicians offices, high schools, professional sports, and the military. 

Vision

The vision of the Athletic Training Education Program at Appalachian State University is to prepare qualified athletic trainers for employment in public schools, junior colleges, four-year institutions, professional programs, and other health care facilities. The program provides an effective blend of classroom instruction and clinical experience designed to prepare our constituents, undergraduate students, in recognition, prevention management, and rehabilitation of injuries/illnesses incurred by athletes and physically active individuals. Appalachian State University is dedicated to being a leader in Athletic Training education.
